Muhammet Ayanoglu graduated with B.S. and M.S. in Nuclear Engineering from Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey. He worked there as a research assistant for two years prior to coming to Penn State to pursue his PhD in Nuclear Engineering. His research focuses on the irradiation behavior of cladding materials (such as stainless steels, nickel based alloys, etc.) from the stand point of determination of their radiation damage parameters. The Super Critical Light Water Reactor is one of the concepts that he is specifically interested in, and wants to research best candidate cladding materials for this type of reactor in the scope of radiation damage.
